Competition for the Fittest on Earth starts tomorrow

Tomorrow, the CrossFit Games will start at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California. The Games are the competition that determines the fittest men, women and teams on Earth: Over the week end, all competitors have to compete in a series of events/workouts. The person who performs best on these tasks overall is crowned Fittest on Earth. The competition is open to everyone, but competitors this week end had to qualify in regional and sectional events in order to compete this week end amongst the world's fittest 50 men, 50 women and 100 teams. Here is a rough schedule of the start of the events tomorrow, Friday July 16th:

  • 9am Affiliate Team Briefing
  • 10am Affiliate Competition Start
  • 12h30 Masters (50+) Briefing
  • 13h30 Masters Competition Start
  • 18h Individual Briefing
  • 18h30 Opening Ceremony
  • 19h Individual Competitition Start

The events will only be revealed at the briefing, which means that the competitors know only 1h ahead of time what they have to compete in. The entire CrossFit Games will be broadcast on this website. If you are from Cape Town, keep in mind that the times above are US West Coast times, it will be 9h later here, e.g. the Individual Competition will start on Saturday 4am. It may be worth it :)

I am not sure I should hope for that, Ellie. I think on Saturday (afternoon), it is on earlier :)

I won't stay up at night, but will try to watch what I can for sure!

Thanks, in the event that I am for some reason awake at 4am on Friday night/Saturday morning (!!) I'll be sure to check that out.

And then I'll have yet another excuse for not sleeping. :)
