Regionals Week at Cape CrossFit

Hi Ninjas,  Just a quick update on what is going on this week. You may have heard the buzz the last couple of weeks where a bunch of our brave athletes have been trying their hardest to prepare them selves for weird movements like Burpee Muscle Ups and even more insane workouts for a full weekend of competition starting on Friday. They are not only doing all of this to test their own fitness against the fittest in Africa, but also to represent the very gym you are bringing all your hard work to week in and week out! We are very happy to send two teams, the CCF Superheroes and the CCF Avengers, and to have both Ellie Hagopian and Coach Carla competing individually this weekend and we all really hope you will support us and follow our journey on Twitter, Facebook and through games.crossfit.com! As it comes, almost all of our coaches are in one way or another involved in the Regionals on either a competing or an administrative level, but we are very grateful for your positive feedback and support regarding Cape CrossFit not being open over the Friday to Sunday that makes out the Regional Weekend. As it happens a few more things need to be adjusted and approved by Council in our new Cape CrossFit Newlands box until we can open those doors, and this allows Coach Mark to help out and cover some of the classes this coming week. As you also know by a previous email, Coach Michelle will also help out as much as it is needed. We are lucky to have two capable coaches making it possible to run the daily classes all the way til Thursday, while our athletes are acclimatizing to the higher altitude in Jozi and doing their final preparations for the competition. There will be no Advanced Classes during this week, (and the next Monday the 27th), as most Advanced Ninjas are either competing or taking part in some way at Regionals. It will however be possible for the Regional Athletes to come in and work on skills, and foam rolling etc in the smaller space between 4.30-7.30pm. In the meanwhile, we really hope to hear all the tales of all your fantastic PB's and WOD-smashing times when we come back next week!
