A few weeks ago, on the 5th July, we checked up on our clients' personal records in the back squat. Last week on Thursday, 18th August, we revisted and compared the successfully lifted loads. Remembering that the attendance on both days did differ, here is the result:
| Name | 5th July | 18th August | Improvement |
| Ellie | 77 kg | 83 kg | 7.79% |
| Rika | 110 kg | 112 kg | 1.82% |
| Kerry | 78 kg | 88 kg | 12.82% |
| Belinda | 51 kg | 59 kg | 15.69% |
| Anton | 111 kg | 135 kg | 21.62 % |
| Bernard | 73 kg | 83 kg | 13.7 % |
| Graham | 89 kg | 92 kg | 4.49 % |
| mean improvement | 11.69 % | ||
The reasons for these improvements will vary from person to person. Everyone will experience an increase in strength but some it might include any one of the other 10 General Physical skills - Endurance, Stamina, Strength, Flexibility, Speed, Power, Balance, Agility, Co-ordination, Accuracy. At the end of the day, the specific reason is only marginally interesting. More importantly, everyone has improved and the improvement is measurable.
As homework, have a look at Kelly Starrett's awesome MobilityWod blog. If you are in need of more mobility, this is the place to start!
The next assessment we will be doing together is the "Fight Gone Bad" Challenge on the 6th September. Remember, there will be a paleo potluck after, so you might want to prepare some paleo goodies!
